With help from Alfred, billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne lives a double life, one as Bruce and the other as Batman. Battling crime after promising to avenge his dead parents, Batman soon finds a new villain has arrived to Gotham, a demented man known as The Joker. Killing hundreds of people, The Joker seems to be Gotham’s undoing, but not if Batman can stop him.
Pros
A good, dark movie directed by Tim Burton. Jack Nicholson’s Joker is now overlooked due to Ledger’s but I think they are both two of the most demented and scary performances ever given. I think Michael Keaton also did a pretty good job as Batman/Bruce Wayne, though I can’t help but picture him from Mr. Mom when I see this movie. The story is good and this really was the first serious Batman film.
Cons
The end conflict is a little ridiculous, and it’s where most criticism’s are. The whole end conflict is kind of silly which deducts from the more serious scenes earlier in the film.
Fun Fact: Kiefer Sutherland was offered the role of Dick Grayson/Robin, but he turned it down. The character was later written out of the script only to return in Batman Forever.

Sort of a shame that these earlier Burton Batman films get left in the shadows of the newer Nolan directed films. I have not seen this in years but recall enjoying it quite a bit.
My first time checking out your blog, enjoyed looking around
Yeah, Burton seems to be wrangled in with the Shumacher films, which is unfortunate. I’m glad you checked out the site.
me too friend, trying to expand the number of film blogs I visit this year. Check ours out if you get the chance.
Yeah, I love checking out other review sites. Your website looks great, by the way.
thanks I will pass that on to my brother that is his department
At least for me, though I consider the Nolan Batman films better, Burton’s are more rewatchable.
Yeah, I think it might have to do with the Nolan films being longer. The longer a movie is, the harder it is for me to re-watch it.
A very, very fun watch that I always see with my dad no matter what. Even though it is campy and over-the-top, I love Jack’s little dance to Prince. Doesn’t get anymore 80′s than that. Good review Austin.
Yeah, the dance is great. I love a lot of the silly lines, some of this are really great.
