Jonathon, better known by his username iknowmoviessorta, is a good friend of mine. He doesn’t have a blog of his own and (according to what he’s told me) has no intention to start one. This post was written pretty quickly, only because he wasn’t of the original 7, and that he literally saved the whole shebang . Anyways, I hope you like what iknowmoviessorta thinks about the Chaplin movie, One A.M.!
One A.M. follows a drunk as he tries to make it to his bed to sleep off his hard night of drinking. The only problem is his objects and possessions keep getting in the way. The beginning involves Mr. Chaplin trying to getout of a taxi cab, but it is done in a funny way. What Chaplin does great is he makes simple tasks difficult and isn’t afraid to amp up the laughs.
After the taxi cab scene, the drunk finds himself home and from there it is a one man show. Chaplin runs across a spinning table, falls down stairs and gets hit in the bed for two reasons; one being his characters desire for rest and the other being Chaplin’s want get everyone laughing. The movie isn’t perfect and I would not call Chaplin’s best. It is only 20 minutes but it gets a bit boring. It is hard to be angry with the movie though, since it is so short.
Score? I’m not quite sure what I would give this “movie”. I’ve only seen a few of Chaplin’s work and I only picked to review this one because Austin had asked me so last minute. I thank him for letting me be a part of this because it seems pretty important to him (note: it is
) All in all, I give this a 4 out of 5. This is not necessarily a movie you need to search for and watch, but if you get bored, it is on Netflix Instant.
Fun Fact: This was the first movie Chaplin starred in by himself, though there was a cameo in it.

Nice review! I have yet to see any Chaplin films.
Ah, so this is what you were telling me earlier. I’m glad to see it up on the site.
Thanks for writing it.
